A project I did last year (2008), working with OGRE (Object-Oriented Graphics Rendering Engine). I took the Lizard model from "Free Cake", created some cyclic animations for him (walk, jump, sidestep, breathe), and then used an animation blending algorithm to transition between them depending on the user's keyboard input. I also made an environment for him, but its geometry was too dense (back-face culling anyone?), thus...bad frame rate. In the last section, I briefly experimented with Ogre ODE to make the box fall on the Lizard. WOO!
