Instead of my original fast motion test I wanted to see how the framerate fared when fast object passed through the fixed frame. Somehow the motion is a little awkward, I don't have the technical knowledge to define exactly how but it's a similar feeling I get watching motion on those awful 100+ Hertz LCD TVs which supposedly reduce motion blur but are simply the same kind of marketing scam that the megapixel war is to digital cameras.
Motion blur is supposed to happen. Try to shake your hand flat in front of your face and you will see transparent fingers. Your hands can't track all the different steps of that movement, which is surely why movies are shot (or displayed) in 24 frames per second. The iPhone has 30 fps which probably explain this awkward motion. I'm thinking someone will surely step in with an App to correct just that, if it doesn't exist already.
i actually think 24 frames looks cooler and better

things that a real(i.e. filmed) are done in 24fps to save film and money. and in the digital versions, 24fps because the fewer frames you have, the lower bit-rate you can use. things that are animated(anime, CG) are done in 30 fps because they look jittery otherwise, unless the codec used supports motion compensation(like h.264 does). games are displayed in 60fps to reduce lag.

I think the awkwardness is because it is indeed 30fps, things are generally shot in 24 or 60fps... at least as far as i know.
