Traffic was heavy on this mid-March afternoon as a long CP freight led by a lone Soo SD60 takes the wrong main to Northtown, passing two BNSF trains waiting for room.

  • How can you take the wrong main?

  • Eastbounds are normally the only ones who use the track the CP train is on. This line is controlled by CTC, so it's not technically against the flow of traffic, but it is unusual to see Westbounds on this track.

  • great to see a SOO SD60 doing some work. there are not many video with SOO units in them.

  • Yeah pretty much anything over like 4%

  • AC or DC?lol

  • Love that loco

  • did you bring a sack lunch

  • Great to see full-on freight railroading US-style. In the UK we have fast passenger trains and a good amount of container freight, but not this kind of big-scale operation. (In any case the Germans and French run faster passenger trains than us.) Plus North American air-horns are miles better than ours :)

  • WTF since when can one engine pull that many cars?

  • sd60 read the title

  • sd50?

  • had to be empties. 5*

  • I saw a train like this go by my school once
