@awerks13 - close but no cigar, my friend. It was really based on Betty Boop, a cartoon made much earlier than Bambi. It was confirmed by the creator of Astro Boy - Osamu Tezuka.

@Klotjee - please do not comment if you truly do not know what you are talking about. If you see people from other countries like Africa, South America, and even Asia, you would call their hair weird because of their individual hairstyles. Heck, this could also be true in Europe as well.
