How long to you eneal the bead and at what temperature/
-
how thick is the mandrel or doesn't it matter?
-
I love your vidoes and youre beads! Cant wait till my glass order comes in and I can give some of these a try!

@U8ting I think if he pulls it towards the camera, it will spin the bead off of the metal rod, since it has bead release on it. He has to pull it along the axis of the bead and rod to avoid it from spinning free

what does he mean 'same direction as the mandrel or it will twist the bead right off'...? i dont get it?
-
Thanks for the video... cant wait to give it a go!!

Thanks, I appreciate that you took to time to answere, I will certainly pick up that book!
Thanks for doing what you do! Would have never thought of actually going for it otherwise.
Two questions..
One is, how do you get it off the metal rod after?
Two, is that just a standard blow torch, or something specific to the trade?

The rod is coated in a product called Bear Release. It is designed to prevent the glass from sticking to the metal. These are specially designed torches using Propane and pure Oxygen. Mine is a National Minor Burner, but I would recommend a GTT Bobcat. I always recommend "The Complete Book of Glass Beadmaking" by Kimberly Adams as the first book to buy. Most of your questions will be answered.

Doh!... I meant Bead Release not Bear Release, and my torch is a "Nortel" Minor Burner not a National. Someone pass me the coffee.
