Was 17 years old and seated in south end zone during this game. When Kerwin crossed goal line for 2 points the place just exploded. I thought the stands were going to collapse. Definitely one of the greatest moments (and loudest crowd roars) in Florida Field/Swamp history.
I don't remember this game but I remember Auburn was good in 1986... you had to bring it to beat the Tigers then... just as you have to now... and most can't.
@bamanfl Yep. That was Robert McGinty. After he missed that kick at the end of the '84 Iron Bowl, Dye told him "We don't see you in our plans for next year." Nice, huh? That's when I REALLY hating Auburn!
I was at this game sitting in the end zone where Kerwin Bell hobbled in on the 2 point conversion to win the game. The ONLY solace I took from this is my gator friend left early in the 4th quarter because he had to go to Boca Raton and figured Florida had lost. He missed it all. WAR EAGLE! PS when I got back to Jacksonville there was a category 1 hurricane sitting off the coast. It had blown up in one day. Very memorable day indeed.
man i wish i can go back into the past just so i can be there i dont care watching the game on tv or being in the stands i want to be there
