It's ridiculous to say that people should have allowed more time to queue or it's their own fault - this isn't a DFS sale, there are no 'terms & conditions' attached to the right to vote. It's the responsibility of the electoral staff to ensure everyone who wants to vote has the opportunity to do so - if you're told polling closes at 10.00, then you should be able to go and vote any time up til then....

I totally misunderstood what a "hung" parliament was, for weeks I have been nailing together frames and gathering rope ready to hang them and now find out we have years of the same corrupt, corporate criminals ruling us slaves.

Bless all these people for thinking their vote would have changed anything! You only have the illusion of choice. No matter who governs they're still looking after the interests of large corporations and never the individual.

@notmyown2010 I think this country is starting to understand that since this incident was wide spread. Democracy failed today and I think that since this vote is so close thousands more votes may have given Labour or Conservative a majority Government.

If you were in the queue and it was seperated I suggest you write to the Electoral Commission and complain. You can find the email address for the northern office on the web.

Here in New York, and across most of the US, if voters are IN QUEUE at 9 pm (when polls close) they are allowed to vote. At 9 am one of the poll workers moves to the end of the line and tells any new voters that the polls are closed. Sometimes this results in a headache, but welcome to democracy.

Also i voted today and i didn't take my card, wasn't an issue and they didn't check my id either, just said name and address.
