Sugarcane train that runs between Kaanapali and Lahaina. Video taken in the Lahaina Station on March 9, 2008. All the guidebooks say to skip this activity in Maui and the train does run behind some shopping centers and at least one homeless camp, but the my boys loved it, especially the bridge and the turntable.

I knew she looked to short ad weird to be a normal 'American western' engine.

  • @dwarflord812 she is a 1943 HK. Porter Belle built steam locomotive. Originally built as a saddle tank engine for use in a rock quarry with her twin sister Myrtle, and older sister George R. from Cedar Point. In 1968 Anaka was bought, torn apart, and rebuilt from the ground up to look like an old turn of the century wood burning locomotive, and entered service in 1970. She burns recycled fuel oil from cars, and carries about 750 gallons of water in her tender. So yeah, she is a real steam.

  • don't you see that it is a real steamer!

  • is it a real steamer or a steam faker
