Let's Play realMYST - Part 1 of 34

Just for fun, I made a DVD-like menu for this LP. In the top right corner of any video, you can find links to both the main menu and the corresponding submenu for the video you're viewing.

This will be a leisurely exploration of realMYST, the 3D remake of Myst. These videos are good for fun facts, time-wasting, and cheesy jokes, but bad for a quick show-me-the-answer-now walkthrough.

If you're offended by the "make Myst interesting" sideswipe, it's just a reference to the fact that Myst is universally known as "the boring game", despite the fact it sold over 6 million copies (and I enjoy it as well or else I wouldn't be doing this).

I don't think you're just "some guy living in space". In the strategy guide, the stranger (the character you play) found the Myst book in the stacks of the San Francisco public library.

how did u look around with the hand in the middle of the screen? in my version the hands go to the corners and make it cumbersome to turn

@TheLegacyofgaming I'm surprised it took two years before someone asked this.

There's a setup menu that allows you to adjust the size of this "dead zone", the square the cursor moves freely in before the view pans around. The menu isn't found within the game; it should be a separate executable file in the game folder. If you don't have it, then you may need to download the patch.
