Yeah I enjoy it...they are good kids. I was a pretty rebellious student as well, so I guess I understand and commiserate with them a bit.  It all works out though...we have a good time.

Thats awesome. I wish I cad gone to an arts school. Schools should be able to recognize the kind of student I was and recommend me to an arts school. It was obvious that I was rebelling against the system, and just needed a more suitable challenge. Now I'm terrible with studies, and mediocre with the arts. Oh well. Sounds like you have a pretty fulfilling job.

It can be trying at times, but I enjoy it. I have found that just getting down on the high schooler's level helps a lot. I tend to have fun with them, instead of come down hard on them...when they feel free to express themselves openly, it makes for a much better learning environment. Then again, I teach at a non-traditional school. I teach at a Charter School for Liberal Arts and Technology.

Oh my God! That must be fun. (very, very sarcastic) I was such a horrible teenager, I feel for any teacher who had to endure my savage behavior. YOu must be a very patient person.

Well in this case...you did something right...my students then had to create their own artistic interpretations mixing your painting style and the literature.

I teach grades 6-12. I mostly deal with high schoolers though.

uh oh.... I'm scared now. I've been used in a classroom. That either means I did something right, or horribly wrong. I'll have to think that one out. What grade students do you teach?

I showed them one of your painting clips when we were studying american realism, and it fit into a lesson on color imagery in The Great Gatsby...I won't go into details as to why...lol

They thought you were an interesting cat though...heh

If half of my students had your sarcasm though, it would make for a more entertaining classroom. So maybe more Dennises in the world wouldn't be half bad. *wink*

Well my answer is two part...I first started YouTubing looking at different artists, and you were one I ended up liking. Mostly I use YouTube for teaching my students now though...there are some interesting videos to use in the classroom on here! But I still check back to your videos because you are a pretty interesting guy, and pretty cute too...haha...have a good day Dennis!
