Han De Vries (1941) is soloist in this 1982 performance of the Telemann D minor concerto for oboe, strings and basso continuo, TWV 51:d1. The Alma Musica Amsterdam accompanies, with Bob Van Asperen on harpsichord. I created this music video from the cassette shown above, issued in 1982 on the Musical Heritage Society label, serial number MHC 9479Z.

  • Haven't heard this before but very peaceful. Are these movements 1-4 or 5-8? You describe as 1-4 but in the video you show the times for 5-8. Thanks for all the links too!

  • @rosten736 Hello, thanks for writing... these are movements 1-4; the image above shows the track numbers on the tape (i.e., these four movements came in 5th through 8th place on the tape recording itself). It is a little confusing, sorry about that! best, david

  • Thanks for this. I checked and these recording are available on an EMI Classics double CD of Bach Telemann & Vivaldi - I have ordered it even though I have just ordered the Hollinger 3CD set :-)
