Magic 2012 In Depth Deck Guide for Machinations the blue black white artifact deck...

Quick update. Last night I played a bunch of games and did lose way more than I had hoped. The vampire deck is pretty strong and something I got beaten by alot. Also one guy beat me 3x in a row as Chandra's mono red. Just seemed to have the perfect answer to everything I played.

  • Psychosis Crawler is in the deck mainly because it combos with Venser's Journal. Once you get those out, it's basically a win lock until they use a kill spell on either.

  • @omgitztommy333 It's not very likely to get both of them out. And either of them by themselves aren't that great.

  • I didn't realize so few people played this on ps3.

  • @SgtMurtaugh What gives you that idea?

  • I think you should keep the armor since people tend to try to destroy your cards alot... idk

You can tell me if I'm wrong...

  • @UrbyKris Certainly not a bad card to have in the deck. I just prefer to leave it out.

  • i use venser's journal seers sun dial mirror works and the Psychosis Crawler i mirror work the sun dial then i can draw 3 cards every turn endless hand size and a super powerful creature that get's about 3 more powerful every turn

  • Any chance of updating this for the new DLC cards?

  • @Thedennati Not trying to be a dick about it. Just want to point out that you can use a video game as a source or reference on how to pronounce this word. Try using the dictionary. In fact the online dictionaries all have it pronounced the same: Mack in ashuns. It is a commonly mispronounced word and the staff that did the voice over for Skyrim must have made the same error. Again..not trying to be a dick just making sure you know what is correct vs incorrect.

  • @RiddleOfSteel82 That's what I had initially thought, but... then I heard it pronounced in Skyrim. It imho really is "sh" Mash in Ashuns, not Mack In Ashuns. And it's because those artifacts are machines. Well, of course I haven't heard it pronounced in Duels of the Planeswalkers themselves, but like I say. There was the exact same word used in Elder Scroll quest in Skyrim pronounced the way I described. It was in relation to Dwemer machines (artifacts), so mash in ashuns :)

  • @Thedennati Actually it is pronounced "Mack In Ashuns" the ch is like a hard ck sound.

Either way, it's no biggie. The WMG guys still say: Mashinashuns. Which is fine really, it gives the game a nice nickname: Mashed Potatoes.

But if and when I make vids playing this deck, I will be pronouncing the deck name correctly.

  • It's crazy that I am watching this deck guide now and I noticed that on the PSN there are over 150k ranked players. I am currently at about 2x,xxx rank and have only been playing since December 2011. Not too shabby. I will continue to climb ofc.

When you gonna make a new deck guide for this, sans the White?

  • Oh, Daisho, you're pronouncing it correctly btw, Machinations, it's from "machine" (cuz of the artifacts) and I've just heard the word used in Skyrim today, so your pronounciation it iiiis.

  • I built this deck without alphamyrs and snapsails...try it. Its soo ridiculous. Not that fast but very entertaining to play. Then even the cards you took out make sense (at least to me :D).

  • @wissahdahmastah It does. You basically lose games if you have 61 cards, as opposed to 60.
