I do wish thou that they had left Luke & Laura alone after this. What i mean is, allowed them to stay married to eachother, NO divorce's or re-marries. I said to my husband just the other day, as corny as it sounds i believe that when the day comes that we lose Genie or Tony to the lord above, there will be an entire generation of women crying themselves to sleep ): The fact is that for alot of people (guys included) this relationship was a huge part of our teenage years.

There will never be another Gloria Monty, or Luke & Laura for that matter. But for those of us who saw this unfold back in the late 70's/early 80's we KNOW that Luke & Laura's love story started BEFORE the rape! People seem to keep forgetting that. We were running home from school to see Luke & Laura play thier game of cat & mouse before it that fateful night at the disco.

I love Luke and Laura, but I have to say it.... Scotty was wronged and if you look at it through his eyes you might feel sorry for him. Scott was young and had only been married to Laura for a little while. They were in love with each other. Luke rapes Laura and then proceeds to woo her into a relationship with him away from Scott. Laura struggles with feelings of guilt as she starts to fall for Luke. To recap: Laura cheats on her husband with the guy that raped her and then marries him.

Tony Geary's protrayal of Luke was and is definitley something. I dont know of another actor that can act as corky as him and still be dramantic and romantic at the same time.

When Luke and Laura were running he stopped to wipe her eyes and reasure Laura that they were married. She had struggled with her love for Luke and marriage to Scott especially during the left handed boy story. I think Luke knew that Scott's apperance would drag up her doubts.
