It's got NOTHING to do with smoking. Liam lost his voice because he sings with his throat. He sings exactly the way you shouldn't technically.

@Hotice770 Liam had the better voice. Noel even said "he has the better voice, I'm the better singer". And how true that was. But Liam had a voice like no other form 93 to about 95. On DM when he goes "Slide Awwaaaaay" for the first time: I got shivers. Just awesome Even when it was a bit raspy from 95-97 it was still good. Then his voice went to shit from smoking. While Noel's voice has aged like a fine wine, it's only gotten better with age. Long live the Master of the Universe Noel Gallagher!

Why the HELL wasn't he the lead singer?? Yes, Liam has the John Lennon-ish voice which was what got them noticed, but Noel has a better voice from a technical standpoint. He is the better singer.
