Amazing video thanks for posting, the following year Fangio moved to the Masarati Formula one team and came from 50 secs back after a disasterous pit stop to beat the Ferraris in what was widely regarded as the race of Fangio's life.
Imagine the carrousel with just a hedges to keep you on track ! I drove my Volvo 240 DL round this circuit with gay abandon in 1988 I might have been more circumspect with nothing but hedges and a few sticks to keep me from flying into the depths of the forest :-)

Wonderful Video. Its great to see these cars being pushed at their limit in their natural habitat. The ring looks much more intimidating with the hedge instead of guard rail.
