This songs about break-ups.. and broken relationships... and heartache... its the moment when you think you really know someone, but realise you know very little about them... its the disbelief when you expect a certain response, and you're met with the total opposite.. At the risk of sounding really depressed and negative, its more or less to me about the process of the fall and rise. About the Hope in despair and blah blah blah but no seriously be serious..Though this song does reflect a time in my life, its in the past. I don't necessarily like to linger on the past, but its always good to revise on 'lessons learned'. And I've seen how these moments have initiated the greatest change; and its this change that evokes great responsibility - change for the worst or for the better - to choose whether the experience makes you a better person - a better YOU!

Anyway,...

In particular for song writing and composition, those moments in life are good inspiration and just seem to pour out during the writing process, like this one. Thats why i wrote it, cause it was there on my heart. I finished writing it, but i didnt want to perform the whole song at 'Jam Night' and make everyone have to listen, so i did the first verse and the chorus. Thanks to my boy John Dagelet (aka Jad Jarred Dadgoe) for his time and willingness to jam with me, and for having what i dont,.. a sense of rhythm! And thanks to his box thingy..

Distant as the Stars - Copyright 2011, 25th June 2011

(Verse 1)
Can I have a hug through the window-sill I said
But she looked at me like the living dead
And I asked if you had to would you choose
Me or the other- 'Well sorry boy you lose'

Can I lay with you in the morning light my love
Even though one more day just isn't enough
All the while you feel guilty for being with me
Betraying the trust of the one you cannot speak

(Chorus)
But I'm as distant as the stars to you
I was as distant as the stars to you

(Verse 2)
I dream I'm in your bed and remember how it feels
But I wake up in mine and realize it wasn't real
Two of a kind we'd never grow apart
But what you had in mind came to break my heart

(Chorus)

(Instrumental)

(Verse 3)
As I shine my light for the world to see
Your presence was part of my destiny
I forgive and forget with you not around
It's hard to believe but I'm 'real me' bound
