Interviews conducted in association with the annual meeting of the American Institute of Biological Sciences on the topic of Challenges for the New Millennium, held March 2000 at the Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC. In this recording, Ernst Mayr, of Harvard University, reflects on his life, career, and the history of the biological sciences in an interview with Michael Robinson, Director of the National Zoo. Recorded in Bedford, MA, in early 2000. Mayr died in 2005 at age 100; Robinson died in 2008 at age 79. See http://www.aibs.org/media-library/ for additional AIBS recordings.

  • It's a shame that Ernst Mayr died because he was the last contributor to the modern evolutionary synthesis, they are all dead now. Thanks for uploading this.
