Sally Field is a great actress. But her sheer talent is quite wasted on Brothers and Sisters, a poorly written melodrama with tacky plot and inconsistent characterisation.

@chrisman737 yA GIRL POWER!!!! now get back to the kitchen
-
@chrisman737 To war.

@ulaghchi Committed to what?

I as a woman sooooo disagree with her! Cas in point, my ex bos, a woman, a total bitch. A lot of my women friends, total bitches. Women I would have to say are probably some of the most screwed up bunch of human beings to man. We have by nature MORE mental illnes than men and we are totally hormonal. I do not want a woman leader who leads most of the time with her emotions. There has to be logic involved. sorry Sally, disagree with your remark!

@chrisman737 And women seem to be more committed than men.

@chrisman737 The problem is a small fraction of women lead nations even today for us to not know this. It's still VERY possible they would not "wage war just as men do" (your words, not mine). You sadly seem certain of this without substantive evidence, plus many current anti war factions today (Code Pink) either were begun by females (likely mothers) or comprise a huge amount, maybe more than their male counterparts.

@cajayson8301 , women in power won't automatically conduct war. I am not saying that. But they are human beings. The trouble I have is when people attribute war to a gender. That is ridiculous. Women are quite capable of being barbarous -- even murderers. Both men and women are capable of conducting a war.

@amberjane9 I would say if mothers like Sally (and my mom *smile*) ruled the world, there would be much less a chance of war. Now if you had people like Sarah Palin, Golda Meir, Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi do such....well watch out! ;)

@chrisman737 Condolezza Rice was a very important part of the Iraq War.>>> Listen to Sally's comment again. She said mothers, not women. Once you have a child, life perspective does a complete 180. Now is it possible mothers ruling the world would lead to no wars? Yes. Likely? No. Heads of sate like Thatcher, Meir, Gandhi not only were mothers but as hawkish as Rice/Bush/Cheney/Obama/etc. However, women in power won't automatically conduct war (look at Australia's PM). Don't blanket
Silly sexist comment on her part. Women can be just as cruel and just as vicious as men. War is not a man's problem. War is a problem of humanity.

I believe she meant there would be no wars because most women don't want to see their kids die in war.
