The American College of Physicians Foundation (ACP Foundation) has adopted the definition of health literacy developed for the National Library of Medicine and used by Healthy People 2010 (the prevention and health promotion objectives set for the Nation by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services):
"The degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate decisions." (Parker & Ratzan, 2001)

This video is great because it let's people know they are not the only ones who don't understand medical information from their doctors or hospitals. I think this will give people confidence to ask for clarification and to confirm they understand in their own terms.
