Check out what the pH level is of various top bottled water and sports drinks are. Find out how alkaline water not only neutralized the acidic drinks but in many cases quadrupled the pH levels.
@shadowwbn You'll get no argument from me regarding the nature of the US gov. - ours is pretty stupid too. I say stupid, but I wonder how much of it is by design rather than by fk up... Not that I'm a conspiracy theorist.
@theestever Well no offense but the USA is much larger than Britian, which means its harder for us to do something like that. Particularly when it involves our govt. who is so stupid and slow, it couldnt catch a cold. Best example, just look at what happened with Hurr. Katrina, no levy upkeep. Then the gulf oil spill, 500k saved, ended up costly tens of billions of dollars. Our politicians are too busy taking turns putting their heads up our corporate industry CEO's asses to do their damn job.
@shadowwbn Granted, you can't be sure of exactly what you're drinking unless you test it, although here in the UK there's an ongoing program of renewal of our mains water systems, much of which dated back to Victorian times. We did have a filter when I was a kid, but since then I've been drinking it straight from the tap and it doesn't seem to be doing any harm. I don't know what regulations are like in the US, but here in Britain we have pretty tight controls over our mains water supply.
@theestever actually you should be filtering tap water if you plan on drinking the water. because the water systems/piping is about as old as our other infrastructure, so if there is a leak or a contamination you will never know. However the whole "Ionizing" water is complete bullshit. all of the ph change is countered by the acidic nature of your stomach.
The lengths some people will go to to exploit false fears...
The body can quite happily balance out "abnormal" ph levels, and - although I'm no expert - unless you're sick, there is no need to be concerned about your body's ph levels at all.
There's nothing wrong with tap water, this is all a scam. Life Ionizers sell their water ionization kits at just over $1000 for the most basic model, but if you wanna splash out go for the countertop model at over $3000...
