I didn't say that THIS was Gale Garnett. Gale is the original singer of this song, who had a one hit wonder in 1964 with this tune. Gale wrote it. I know this is Helen Reddy, I remember this episode.

Well, all I know is that Gale in addition to having a rich singing voice,was, at the time she recorded the song(1964), was a STUNNINGLY beautiful woman, like a model! Just look up the Wikipedia article on her.

There's a picture of her on the album from which the song came. I think you'll agree she's gorgeous! Dark brown, or black hair and crystal blue eyes! With her talent and beauty, Gale should have a bigger star.

Sadly, she's a one hit wonder.
