LOCATION: Amadeus Pizza (8th Ave. and 31st St., NYC)
ORDER: 1 slice of plain
GUEST(S): Robin Rothman, Shawn Amaro, Adrian Rose, Binu Paulose
PIZZA REVIEW: Rock me, Amadeus, all night long. If you are looking for a late night pizza joint blocks from Penn Station, Amadeus fits the bill. During the afterhours many of the pizzas on display cool and become less appetizing. I recommend whatever pie most recently came out of the oven. If, like us, you are fortunate enough to get a fresh piece from a fresh pie, you are merely three grease dabbed napkins away from a pretty solid slice of pizza. Don't let the oily cheese deter you. Hidden beneath it is a very tasty tomato sauce and some very edible crust. A couple of slices will likely fill you up and, let's face it, at 4am it might just be your only option.
MISC.: 1. Today's pizza day occurred just after the Paul Lynde 1977 Halloween Special and its after-party. I played Richie Cunningham and Robin Rothman played Charro. Here is a photo of the cast.
2. Binu Paulose, Shawn Amaro (sans facial hair), and Adrian Rose also commment about the frequency of visits to Amadeus. Binu comes here often. This was Shawn's first time and Adrian only pretended to eat a slice. She does recommend the Poland Spring water served at Amadeus however.
