She is my mother's favorite singer. I did not appreciate her music until I got older. Her music is timeless but her story is both colorful and sad. I always dream that what would it be if I can go back in time to the 30's and listen to her performance. If I can really choose I will prefer the old days....

Chou Hsuan's songs are evergreen. I never get tired of listening to her songs provided that she was the singer. When I started work immediately after finishing my Cambridge School Certificate and worked in Temerloh in the Pahang State Clerical Service in 1962 her songs were very popular and often heard over radio. TV was still not available. The records were played on the gramophones. There were no CDs or VCDs and we were very happy and contented.
