Come on people! What's the obsession with my shoes. That's all we knew in the stone age! Most of them had slick plastic bottoms. Couldn't afford keds. Got mine on sale at Kmart. 50 cents a pair. In the summer I'd blow through 4 to 8 pair a day. Holes in the bottom from spinning on concrete. When Insteps came along I felt like a hot shot! Never had an injury from my cheap shoes. Got hurt trying things ahead of my time and abilities. Just wanted to grow up to be Kathy Fugimi. TWIRL STRONG! Lucero

true now, however back in the day the tread on th bottom of the kids were very different than they are now. I dont think you can use keds now for it

Yes Twirling in Keds or Tennis Shoes you may Seriously Damage your Feet so try wearing Jazz dance shoes or Twirling Shoes (Cougars)

Yup Ive seen a lot of girls pull off 5 spins in keds. Ive seen her in Keds, twirl instep shoes and dance shoes.
