there is a reason it is called a "Trick"

Pause at 33 Seconds. Its fucking obvious there's a pole there, they don't even hide it well. Case solved. The video shows the rope falling down, but when reversed it appears its going up.
I wish there was real magic, but I don't think humans have any sort of powers like that.

Just looked through the comments again and rewatched it a couple of times to confirm one of the theories. Pause it at 33 seconds. There is very clearly a pole behind the rope

@s34n777 It's a completely feasible explanation of how it happened. Either the video of it standing at the top could be frozen, or it could have been held their by an unseen wire which was cut to allow it to fall. Either way, the video is obviously reversed by the distorted way the rope enters the air.
With regards to the witnesses, as far as I know there are no real, written reports of the trick being performed in its original form, it's all covered in a book written on the subject -

There are far too many shots from different angles in this. I am guessing that what those people are watching did not happen like it did on this video. How many cameras are we supposed to assume this was shot on before being edited together to create this video? The movement of the rope in the shot which begins at frame 15 also seems to suggest that the rope is falling, and the video has simply been reversed in this part

im thinking metal strands being stiffened with electromagnetism. maybe...

@judsonIappIy Yes, I'm familiar with prana/chi but I am 100% certain it isn't being used in this magic trick, sorry.

@rom2014 guys, the explanation is simple... have you never heard of the hindu concept of prana? Prana is the sanskrit word for life force, ch'i, ki, or whatever you want to call it. Certain yogic practices (including the chinese ones, like qi gong and tai chi) enable the yogi to gain control over such prana. I have seen Qi gong masters pierce a thick, hard table using light wooden chopsticks. This is done by infusing it with ch'i. The rope is held up in the same way. Notice his arm movements.
This version seems much more difficult to pull off than the modern version that you see on YouTube. I wonder how it was done.

@ar4216 Well, if you believe in any God, i guess you have to believe in magic as it's mentioned in all religions. And if you don't, consider the history of magic worldwide in every single civilization on this planet and just be open minded enough to know that you don't know everything. Maybe magic is just another undiscovered science
