@sephiroth87932 That's subcutaneous fat under the skin. This is atheromatous plaques. It's different :)

@korinthios1000 Stroke is a possible complication but only occurs in 1-3% of cases, so the risk is pretty low!

I have seen this done a few times. I was worried about the metal clamps, the shaky hands, and the artery still bleeding. How is or how was the patient?

It is a potential dangerous operation, if the plaque flow into distal circulation (into brain). Stroke will happened. So it must be very cautious to secure the distal arteries.
