While attending Georgetown from 1975 to 1981, I worked as a chemistry teaching assistant and sang with the chorus. The director was Paul Hill, fantastic guy. I auditioned for this group in the local pub called "The Tombs" and sang several traditional drinking songs standing on a table in the middle of the extablishment, solo. There wasn't a sound in the place but the group didn't need a top tenor - or so they thought. I soang for five years with the chorus, they included women. Great times

It's called an acappella group. Basically, they sing songs without the use of instruments. This particular group is the oldest, and also the only all-male, acappella group at georgetown university in Washington DC.

Lovely background, but I think it somewhat diminishes the soloist. Fantastic job overall, though. It's pleasing to hear this song done so well.
