  • While still freinds with Ringo today, Micky said in his autobiography that it was about his entire trip to England, with references to his future wife Samantha Juste, the Beatles, the queen and other observations that he made while there. Check out his book its a great read

  • This is an awesome song.

  • im scouse an love people taken the piss its kind of a back handed complement...scousenotenglish j96

  • Such a great random song. I love the chorus and verse at once at the end of the song and the hand over the mouth vocals at 1:35. Nice random noise at end too.

  • Pity Mickey naively penned this number, he didnt take an extra half hour to study the scouse race, if so it surely would have been titled:

    MURDERING SCOUSE GIT!!!

  • great song

  • Wtf. I thought they would inslt ppl from Liverpoool in this..

  • LOL at Mickey... I love this song. :)

  • I have to ask what you mean by "there was no video". This is filmed with a camera. In most instances things are filmed straight to film which is much higher quality. However, at one point, the TV show The Twilight Zone had budgetary problems an had to film a few episodes straight to video tape. I wasn't refering to the film processes in my comment however, merely to the fact that this is a music video i.e. a piece of music set to moving pictures, eh? So, what do you mean?

  • I love how peter played the piano in this song! He looked so into it, lol!

  • Also, they ALWAYS goofed around during these lip-synced "performances," so this one is nothing new. Mickey was making faces from the start, so he obviously wasn't worried about syncing up perfectly.

I had forgotten how much I like this song; surprisingly strong lyrics for The Monkees.

  • That's funny...he wrote the song!
