@63B1stmaint thats a BMW key problem. I had it this problem. My key's chip wasnt working properly, so I just open it and tried to clean every thing cuz i have an e46 with 240K. I know its a lot but still running great!

13.8 -14.4 is optimal .

@63B1stmaint if your immobiliser is not allowing car to start it's either your key's transponder (little chip inside of the key) or your car's ecu (Engine control unit) what basically is a main car's computer. You should plug in your car to diagnostic tools via obd2 and do the readings. Your key's transponder need programming or ecu has to be reset or if worse comes to worst you will need new ecu. When you buy ecu like second hand one you have to buy it with car keys as it's matched with ecu

thanks for the great video. how to check petrol average? like skoda octavia?
-
@olaf2046 calm down -.- one it wasnt my car two it was a loose wire on the cars cpu that runs from one of the sensors that runs to the immo. system. ffs
-
@olaf2046 I've read that the tamper dot indicates that the mileage I can read is different to the real mileage. Is there any way to read that REAL mileage that is supposed to be recorded in the ECU?

um
how do you test to see if the immobilizer is not allowing the car to start?

@63B1stmaint you can't! As long as you have a key and it is your car then your BMW E46 should not have any immobilizer to stop you from starting your car at anytime. So unless you broke the window and are trying to start the car with a coat hanger you should not have to worry about any immobilizer. If your car isn't starting with the key chances are it is some other issue and not the original factory BMW Alarm.

Very good video and easy to follow just tested my batt and it reads exactly the same between 138 and 142... How do i reset my brake fluid service (right button)?
@dondipa sounds like u know nothing about cars most people do a hpi check before you buy a car if u had the report would alert you of wrong mileage on your car indicating the mileage had been altered(are u asian by any chance)..lol

@goldBCFC Not sure ifyou are referring to me but I'm not Asian or East Indian. Also there is nothing wrong with my odometer or mileage. My car had geniunely low mileage when I bought it. BMW's have the tamper dot that only the dealership (or someone with BMW software and hardware) can remove if the odometer has been tampered with.
Also I never claim in any of my videos to be a mechanic or car expert. Other than this BMW and the 2010 C300 my girlfriend has I claim no knowledge of other cars.

you sure its not a clocked car? i buyed at 2002 bmw e46 at 76k miles then checked on a online m.o.t and realised it had done 100k back in 2008!

@dondipa nope. I bought it from the original owner in 2008 (a 70 year old retired surgeon) out in Long Island. He did nothing to the car other than basic maintanence. The thing was brand spanking new when I got. In the 2-3 years of me owning the car I put more miles and dents on it than the 6-7 years the first owner had it. sad but true. But the car has gotten some nice OEM upgrades under my care.
