Those that stayed and endured those 'bright lights' and recordings; that was their choice and fine! Small time however is never given and can't ever be to those who said in their hearts; 'fuck this nonsense exposure' - 'just go away from 'our scene', the floor is ours!!'

I travelled up from Torpoint In Cornwall back in 1976 !!

Here in the US this style of music reformulated over time into the "boom-clap" via DJ's and electro. That's how I grew up, c-walking, uprocking, and that kind of thing in LA. I remember a cousin moved from the Dales (my actual surname, seriously!) to Vancouver and came to visit us. He had those exact flare trousers and was feeling the "dance all night vibe" that in hindsight crossed so many subcultures at the time. Now it's entirely a "street" or ethnic thing, but it never really was then.

@blaisineful I hear you. But, frankly this period (fashion wise) was not very attractive for guys or girls. No wonder everyone is dancing solo lol. Dolling up went away in the 70s. Thank god it returned in the 80s.
God I miss this so much.
We girls didn't get dolled up in short skirts and high heels, you wore comfortable shoes to dance in. And they guys with their moves, I loved to watch them.
You didn't go to pull, you went to feel they music and dance.
Kids today don't know what having a good time is.
Keep the faith
