Don't worry kid it's not a secret. It's called the Davey Knot developed by Davey Wotton, fly tyer and guide on the White River in Arkansas. Most fly fishers know about the knot. It's a simply modified version of the Figure 8 and Pitzen Knot. Videos are all over You Tube on how to tie it.

I like the palomar also and use it in most instances when not flyfishing, but this is actually a really good knot and better than the palomar for many flies. What good is a knot when you can't run a double line through the eye of the hook??? Don't be close-minded people.

It is "The Davy Knot was created by Davy Wotton from the United Kingdom" (basicly a Figure-8). See flyspoke's "Davy Knot & Double Surgeons Knot" for some more info.
