I DID cry and I was 62 when I last saw him sing "She Cried" with the Tokens in CT. This guy is 67 or 68 and you can hardly believe his voice hasn't changed that much since 1962 as the original "Jay". The Jay Black years were fine also but he's always been egotistical and still brags about his high notes in "Cara Mia"...a little sad and looks even worse.

Great Song! You can feel her pain. It is a sad parting with no hate, only pain. It makes you want to reach out and hold her hand...

i wouldn't take the words to this song too seriously. it's just a nice tune that tells a story.

Thank you for a beautiful upload. FYI (from Wikipedia): "She Cried" is a song written by Ted Daryll and Greg Richards and was recorded by Jay and the Americans for their 1962 album, SHE CRIED. The song reached #5 on The Billboard Hot 100 in 1962. The song was the group's first major hit.

@bluiis2003 what are you doing this saturday night?
ahhhhh. A "Timeless Story of Love and Hurt". Any guy who would make someone who loves him cry, is a Cad.....and she is better off without him. But this has been going on since "love" was invented.....Have ALWAYS thought this is one of the saddest songs of the '60s.

@MIKECNW Yeah! The man's a cruel jerk! He breaks her heart just because he met someone he thinks is hotter! And TELLS her so! I hope that girl who "caught his eye" breaks HIS heart now, if he has a heart to break, that is! Seriously tho, this is 1 of the saddest songs I know of. It always made ME cry when I was a kid
