Jungle Jitters is part of the infamous Censored Eleven, a group of Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons that were deemed too offensive for contemporary audiences because they are based around racist depictions of Blacks. United Artists pulled these cartoons from broadcast in 1968.

Despite its racist overtones the cartoon is quite amusing, a stereotypical African tribe is visited by a dim witted traveling salesman. The tribe decides to eat the salesmen but their queen (a white woman that looks more like a bird) falls in love with him and tries to marry him, however, the salesmen deems this a fate worse then death and quickly throws himself back in pot.

  • I have this episode stuck in my head since i was four years old!!!! I am now 15 years old and after seeing this, i think it will be stuck for another 20 years -_-

  • What the righteous holy fuck, big ass lips, grass skirts and bones in their hair, man its every stereotype here, this is some fucked up racist ass shit. But fuck its funny though.

  • That'll be 2 dollars please

  • @dark7element Well, most African tribesman are black... sooooooo, how else should they portray them?

  • @dark7element Black people kill each other like savages all the time! except now they prefer fried chicken instead of people. Deal with it!

  • I loved this cartoon growing up! Now that I'm 16, I can see how it is racist. I immatate the salesman all the time and it drives my brother crazy! He knows he heard it somewhere, but he can't figure it out!

  • @dark7element Except for the fact that.. you know...In the year 2011 African tribes who practice cannibalism STILL EXIST. That's right. THEY STILL EXIST. You going to tell me that's racist too? Well I guess you learn something new everyday folks.... facts are racist.

  • Oh man. Wow. That was pretty bad.

  • My grandmother gave me these tapes with these old cartoons on them. This was one of them. After watching this cartoon as an adult, I can say that it is increadibly racists. Although I did find one line funny, "I now sentence you to be man and wife"
