Décima lo más siblime / para el alma divertir / Se debiera de morir / quien por buena no la estime. / Canto para que te anime / y me ponga' atención. / Cantamos de corazón / acudan a la llamada / la espinela bien cantada / siempre alegra al corazón. / This greeting, sung as a guaguancó (cuban rumba) demonstrates yet another theme: praise of the décima itself. I adapted it from a famous Cuban décima Décima, the most sublime thing / to amuse the soul. / He should die / who does not esteem it. / I sing to cheer you up / so pay attention to me / We sing from the heart / answer the call / a well-sung espinela / always gladdens the heart. /
