Raw footage of experiments that occured on day two of two days of video feedback experimentation last summer. Day two I included my Korg Entrancer. The first half is just me on the Entrancer---and offscreen Chris on a bong reading some kind of D&D fantasy novel. Later in the episode, he helps me out by improvising on the Entrancer as I improvise in front of the camera as the space trucker. The setup is a camera pointed at a 100' hanging projector screen with the camera's viewer flipped forward. Then out of the camera out plug to the Entrancer which has two video outs: one to the projector that is pointed at the 100' screen, and the other through a recording vcr to a 30' monitor offscreen (the way a weatherperson can see him/herself with the effects).

I have cut out the boring bits, but everything in this and the next two episodes are 100% raw real-time footage...as you may well hear. Chris just happened to be listening to a Nine Inch Nails album (I think) and that turned out to greatly influence the experiment.

My favorite setting is the two-minute video buffer. In this episode it's mainly my initial experimenting, followed by space trucker experiments, all from the vhs tape that is completely Entrancer filtered. The next episode will have the rest of the vhs footage. The last episode of these three episodes will be all footage from the videocamera (where the Entrancer effects are seen only in the background...which itself is sometimes more successful visually than the same footage thoroughly Entrancered that I could see at the time on the monitor off-screen. Remember, I could also see what the camera was seeing before the footage went through the Korg on the camera flipped-forward viewer.

Still have other "normal" episodes of space trucker slow-cooking at home, so even though I'm a season behind, these things are still happening. I still want to host a late night cable-access show where the space trucker shows old public domain sci-fi movies. Some day.
