Kursiy is constructed of 10 machine-cut pieces of wood and aluminum. The idea was to design a chair which would be both easy to construct and to take apart. The chair utilizes a repeating pattern but mirrors the elements to create a seat 4 legs and a back. Two rods slip into the seat tying all 10 elements together with no additional hardware required... The chair is designed for easy shipping and assemblage, keeping the congregation of the chair unproblematic. The absence of fasteners allows easy removal and quick storage when space is needed. For example, an office can assemble chairs quickly for a meeting and then disassemble and store flat when staking of chairs is limited. For the Kursiy prototype wood scrap from boat builders was utilized, cut to the desired dimensions with pre-cut voids to facilitate joint connections in addition to reducing the weight of each piece, creating a relatively light chair.
