Schilling is a blowhard man I'm glad this dude is gone. I remember his interviews during the '01 world series about how he played little league and played catch with his dad when he was a kid and he lived every day to "respect" the game. The media was giving him nonstop handjobs for those comments. Then 2004 with the "bloody sock" and ankle injury that he intentionally left inadequately bandaged so the blood would leak onto the sock. Can't stand this guy. Bigger douche than AROD.

Schilling sure can talk, but now that he's retired he can look at 2 Red Sox championships he contributed to, including many postseason gems to back up the talk. Go Sox!

Classless? The game was 1-0 at that point. The next batter was the winning run and I believe Ellis popped out to end it. Had the game been 5-0, A's fans would have been cheering for a no-hitter.
Remember, it was A's fans who gave that fat, Bush-loving, loud-mouth a standing ovation in 06 when he recorded his 3000th K in Oakland.
That fact that this happened to Schilling with 2 outs in the 9th is a classic example of karma playing itself out. He shouldn't have shook off Varitek's 1st sign!
