i thought it was strange that JOHN never played this bass live on the RCM TOUR.

Those are decent basses. I'm not hot on the paint scheme. But alder body and maple neck is a great wood combination for tone. I do prefer his vintage Aria Pro2 Sb basses. I have one myself and the tone slays.
