  • No praise is high enough for Baldur's Gate. The golden age of gaming - gone for now.

  • Crickey, tell me about it - I've played BG1 and 2 and NWN, but without a shadow of a doubt (or Amn, heh) the graphics in the BG series are much more beatiful and detailed.

I'd so love for a BG3 to be made in the same style as BG2...sigh...

  • @amrbekhit "I'd so love for a BG3 to be made in the same style as BG2...sigh..." - That's the exact reason why I hate Fallout 3.

  • @TheChaos0 I always play the game as intended first, then add the awesome mods that I can find. Though after finding this massive mod pack which appears to be somewhat endorsed by the game creators themselves, it appears that there are a lot of things in the original that weren't as intended :P

  • @tiaxanderson Actually if you use Baldur's Gate Tutu... you can play BG1 on BG2 engine and ruleset. Wild Mage in BG1 <3

  • ya little monkey-spanker

  • @tiaxanderson to be honest though TuTu makesup for that by updating the slightly clunkier first HUD and system. however playing some kits actually adds a lot more difficulty, sometimes thats JUST what you want :D

  • Back in the good ol' days when RPG's were good, classes all had massively different feels to them and you actually cared about the characters and the games were actually made with LOVE. Now they're mostly copy-pasta trying to emulate the last best-seller.

  • FOR THE GLORY OF AMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @roomwithacatinit I advise you to play Baldur's Gate 1 too, though you'll mis a lot of the more advanced stuff, dual wield, awesome spells and a level cap that leaves you just below level 10, I think it's well worth it.

Also, if you like the angle and wouldn't mind playing a different kind of RPG, I also suggest the Diablo series. Mind you that these are ACTIONrpgs, so no pausing and extensive lore.

I also suggest Dragon Age: Origins.

  • I miss games like this. Although I never played BG1, just most of 2. I always liked the camera angle.

The storyline was good, but seeing as how I never played BG1, I didn't understand most of 2's references. I did, however, play BG Dark Alliance, and Dark Alliance 2. Even though they had very little similarities with the first Balder's Gates, they were still fun, and enjoyable.
