Cameras typically flatten seas out, but not so much when you have a 40'-50' boat as reference!. This was taken while sailing about 300 miles south of San Diego on the 2009 Baja ha-ha sail Rallye. At this point we had 20kt winds gusting to 30. Swells were 12 - 15ft, but saw some 20+ on occasion. This was the day when the J-120 went to the bottom close to our location. We did not hear their mayday (all OK). We had a fun Ride. Those conditions lasted for about 24 hrs.

  • What were you sailing on? You got smoked by a big floating furniture barge!
