A normally 14 hour drive took us about 16 due to riding down in 3 vehicles with 60ish people (including one preggers lady).

The trip down was super long, with not much conversation except for within the small groups of people that already knew eachother.

Watched Dark Night, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and Hot Fuzz.

Not too much to see in this video, except for the small conditions inside the bus.

At the end we're at the church that we stayed at close to Chalmette. A few people from the Christian group got together to rock out. Way to continue the stereotypes. :P

  • There is a massive difference between the presuppositional apologetics of reformed theologians like Plantinga and Frame, vs the empty and ignorant fideism of the evangelical camp.

Few atheists try to prove the negative that there is no God. That's impossible to do. Our claim is that *theism is unjustified*.

I certainly have presuppositions, tigerlilly, but you share all of my presuppositions about the world before adding a host of your own. I do not presuppose atheism at all. I deduce it.

  • Hope you enjoyed your time in my home state of Alabama. : )

Don't know your itinerary, but if you can work it in time wise, y'all should head home by way of Gulf Shores, AL so you can play on the beach for a while, then just hop on I-65 in Mobile and it will take you back to Louisville, Kentucky. Then take I 71 on home.

  • As my friend and long-time antagonist CaerXII will attest, the issue of "pre-suppositions" has come up often in our discussions.I maintain we both have them, he denies that he goes into any discussion with a pre-conceived notion about anything.I still don't get how one can say this and still call themselves an "atheist". By definition, a (no) theos (god)...uhhh, kinda sounds like a phrase we usually associate with atheists..."there is no God". If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...

  • Yeah. Bear in mind, it was a pretty impromptu conversation with no preparation at all, in the midst of an all-day drive, so it really isn't fair to judge too harshly here.

I'm saying this because I respect refcharspope's positions (while obviously disagreeing with them), and he argues them better than most Christians do.

  • As for the cognate comment, give me a break, I have been up since 430 in the morning and driving for 12 hours. Let's see how coherent you are....

And madhair, I don't think QM proves my "fantasy" as you put it, but rather points to the idea that reality is much more complicated than we imagined fifty years ago.

  • Why do people think that QM helps their fantasies???

  • I'm pretty sure he meant 'cognize'.

  • Yeah. I'm the guy on the right, the atheist.

  • w00t

  • The philosophy planet.
