  • Hmm. I remember a band called Ukiah that played at a bar room called The Blue Ox in Brainerd, MN almost 20 years ago. They had a hot drummer kinda looked like young Ozzy... Anyway, I was a cocktail waitress there and they did the most amazing rendition of Eleanor Rigby I've ever heard and I don't even like that song to begin with. And I remember it even after almost 20 years. Wonder if this is the same band. .

  • 1. I was born in Ukiah is that where this band is from?

    2. The Slide Player is way way better than the guys in the band, the drummer is hitting a straight beat not a shuffle, the other guitarist is way to processed yada yada yada and on and on.

what a waste, this guitar player should play with better musicians sorry but true

Great tone also by the Slide Player

  • Wayne - Sent you an email. Dixie Peach is still alive!

    Ira

  • Ira - where's Tony and Steve? This is Wayne Crabtree from Richmond KY - I travelled with you guys to the "She" in Dayton and we stayed in the bands house -- drinking brave bulls! You're the best slide going - still - 'cept maybe for Derek or Ry....

  • Ira Stanley, slide guitar virtuoso, co-fronted a band called "Dixie Peach" with guitarist/keyboardist Tony Paulus. Steve Williams brought it together with a screaming Hammond B-3 and Leslie 122 combination. They were killer - they did a remarkable version of "Paint my mailbox blue" - I have their original album - I used to see them on a regular basis in Richmond, Ky. @ the Family Dog!!

  • Ukiah is a small town in Northern California

  • Sounds damned good to me.

  • good sound

  • great cover, love the paint job on the SG
