even in my FWD car I have trouble not spinning out on 2, there's no need to trail brake on almost any turn on mosport.

try doing that at turn 2 is a sure fire way to end up with more than just a broken car

Why would anyone teach trail braking in an introduction course to the track??? It's obvious these are novice drivers.

With a slow car like the AE86 it'd be OK. But with a heavy car around Mosport...it's a sure way to shorten the car by a few inches.

"don't brake and turn at the same time because it will upset the car". I would actually brake in those highspeed corners. It's called trail braking.
