Walkway Snail (Acoustic Guitar)

SNAIL STORY!

A week ago, when I got home around noon, there was a sleeping snail outside on the walkway. I live on the second floor, and it was under a railing, curled up inside its shell asleep. So, I didn't disturb it, but I kept checking now and then to see if it woke up.

It did wake up about an hour ago! And it was crawling around the second floor walkway, which unfortunately is often walked on by people! So I watched it for a few minutes, said "awww", then I got out my camera and filmed it for a little while. But it was heading toward the center of the walkway! It would have gotten squished for sure if someone wasn't looking ;-(

So, I went inside, got a small bit of lettuce, and set it down next to the snail. I could have picked it up by the shell, but it might not have let go of the ground, and a snail's grip on the ground can be stronger than its shell! Plus, it was rather small, so I wasn't sure I'd be gentle enough in any case. So, I wanted to use the lettuce as a ferry to move the snail to safety. But the snail wouldn't climb on the leaf! It sat there for five minutes, nibbling at the edges.

Well, this was cute, but I didn't want to stand there all day, so I gently nudged the snail with the leaf to get it to go into its shell. I thought I'd break its grip on the ground with the lettuce, and then scoop it up without hurting it. The poor thing didn't want to let go of the ground, though, and it got scared and released a lot of slime ;-( Poor snail! But I did manage to break its grip, and move the lettuce underneath it. But even as I did this, it came back out of its shell, and started running at breakneck speed (for a snail. So, crawling at 1mm/s or so, which is snail top speed). Luckily, it ran right onto the leaf, so I was able to pick it up, walk downstairs and out to the garden, and let it free!

I'm sorry I scared you, little snail, but at least you won't get stepped on today.

This song is relaxing and enjoyable to listen to, as is watching this snail. When you decide to do another Snail song/video I think that slow....ish cross fades between shots would add to the mood and suit the content well.

I enjoyed reading the story, besides, the songs is quite and gentle ^-^ just as the little snail !

I'd love to see snails more often, but unfornutaley in my country (desertic weather, and not to much vegetation) it's really hard to see one.
