Danced to this classic--and I don't use that word lightly--on many Thursday nights at Darby Park. With this song as a soundtrack, a guy had an extra yard of game with any girl. Thanks, Smokey.

I was 15 years old when this song was released and in the middle of puppy love romance.
Every time I hear this song it renews my faith in LOVE.
Smokey is one of the best, if not the best and talented singers produced by Motown.

@renzaboi I can't tell you about the speed but the distortion is a famous characteristic of Motown 45s, that's how it was meant to be heard ;)

I was 'lifted' at the Manchester Top Twenty all nighter in 1968 along with people from Devon, Norfolk, the Midlands and there were a fair few from Scotland. Soul. Motown & Northern has no boundaries

the "Scotish Soul Society .....?" Do Scots have a thing for soul music. I know they produced the blue-eyed saoul group Averag White Band .... but, s Soul society ,,,some1 plese respond.
