This was my Sound Design Media course project assignment in MSc Sound Design 2009-2010 programme at the University of Edinburgh. The aim was to create a sound design prototype for an instrument such as Thomas Cahil's Telharmonium. I created Vibramorphone, a sound design prototype of an instrument which can capture the surrounding sounds and incorporate the attributes of those sounds in its basic Vibraphone tone creating interesting textures of sounds. Only one Vibraphone/Metallophone recorded note (A4) and recorded sound samples of voice, water stream, bike chain/cogs, water boiler and crowd were used to create these textures. Spectral Convolution technique was used amongst other synthesis techniques in this project.
