In Memory Of Dream

I cannot imagine what you must be going through right now Kelly. I only know how I felt when I lost numerous animals and family members. I almost had to get my mare put down, but thankfully I didn't have to make that decision in the end. I can only know how I felt in the time it could have been a real possibility. My heart broke at even having to consider it, so I know yours must be shattered right now at losing Dream.

You wanted to know how to deal with the loss of a horse, however, there is no proper way to deal with any great loss such as this. Something this big changes you. It's always there...a piece missing of your heart. Know that you must be strong and time will make the hole a little smaller, but may never completely close. It is in these tragic moments that we learn greater strength.
Dream put you through trials and victories for a reason. They were her gift to you. These lessons will no doubt help you in the future.
When you are ready eventually another horse will come in to your life. One that will need all the love and patients you can give them. This horse (like Dream) is going to be extremely lucky.

I wouldn't wish the pain of losing someone you love on anyone. It only makes it worse when its so sudden and you never get the chance to say goodbye...i've been there with my cat that was my life. I do not know how I will face the day I lose either of my horses...
