The Davos Debates in India with Manvi Sinha from NDTV
India has the world's second largest population and one of the fastest growing economies today.
Experts predict that India will become a global superpower within 50 years - thanks to its economic growth and young population.
Despite this, India remains one of the poorest countries with a 35% illiteracy rate.
Access to healthcare, reliable power, and clean water are also in desperate short supply.
Could these gaps prevent India from achieving what finally seems within its grasp ?
We want to know what you think....Can India become a superpower ?
Vote now in our poll !
Upload a video reply and tell us what it takes to make India a superpower.
The best videos will be shown during the World Economic Forums India Economic Summit held in New Delhi from 14 - 16 November.

  • India will become a superpower by 2035 and not 2050

  • @liquidreven INDIAS ECONOMY CAN NEVER PASS THE US . RUSSIA OR CHINA OR THE DEVOLOPED EUROPEAN COUNTRIES , MAYBE THE WEST ECONOMY IS SILENCE BUT THEY CAME AGAIN

  • @theindivish NO MY FRIEND THE WEST AND THE US KNOW THAT INDIA NEVER BECAME A SUPER POWER , MAYBE A DEVELOPED COUNTRY BUT NEVER SUPER POWER.

INDIA CAN EVEN MADE A CAR OR RIFLE OR JETPLANE (TOYOTA , HONDA , MITSUBISHI CARS IS JAPANIES )

CHINA , JAPAN , RUSSIA FLAG IS ON THE MOON TOO BUT YOU MUST SE THE TRUE IN YOUR EYES , CHINA , JAPAN , RUSSIA IS FAR AWAY FROM INDIA MUCH FAR AWAY.

  • I AM SURE INDIA CAN'T because khuwab daikhna hindu ka shok hai and aadat b.

  • @dlobrown8888 you are right we have not achieved any thing in the last decade and still there is so much hype :) imagine what if we... we are already the R&D hub Auto manufactoring hub and dont even talk about information tech.. we are the only nation after US to have our flag planted on the moon..... give 25 years more... our economy has just opened 15 years back.. In fifteen years its a lot

  • India is a slumdog superpower

  • yes,,of course...

india already become a superpower in the 3rd world

  • the point is there will be no superpower anymore. people dont understand because for the past 60 years its only been america. yes india will be powerful, but so will china and yes so will the USA. even if india economy passes china and the usa its not gonna be a huge difference, and each will be very powerful. The EU is a possibility they have half a billion people.

  • @9654477121 incorrect - China is the largest largest english speaking country over India by twice, literacy rate over 90% in China, the world doesn't percieve India as a powerful nation. China projects its greatest power over the world after US. China has performed many roles on the world's matter so it is strong to say China is making a progress as a reponsible superpower. Why? Do your bloody research and list the things in comparison with India. India has achieved nothing in the last decade.

  • its only your dream, where you are sitting like a statue. From 85% illitrate in 1947 to grown up to 65% educated class with largest number of english speaking people, hired more jobs of west ,and 7% growth every year, where west stick to just 2.3%. facing turbulance in economy and china which changing its nation in materistic character that doest make it a responsible superpower.
