The review of the Infrant ReadyNAS NV+ in episode #3 is one of our most popular episodes. This week we take a look at the ReadyNAS 1100 --- the Data Center-Ready cousin to the NV+ and a fantastic piece of gear for the storage-challenged.

Since most data centers are located in remote locations often miles (literally) from the office it makes sense that there is no LCD display since no one should be allowed into the data center to access the equipment unless replacing failed hardware.
You know... we did that for Interop... but it was a hack. I believe the Infrant guys were planning on implementing something in the OS that would span units. Lemme email the guys and see what they say.
That's not rude at all --- It's actually a very good question. --- For many (most?) people an external 1TB drive or two is perfectly fine. That kind of solution gets good performance, costs much less, and is far less complicated --- However, for some, there is no substitute for a Network Attached Storage device. That kind of 24x7 network accessible storage is invaluable to some uberGeeks and professionals.
Lol, 110 degrees in the shade. I see how this is a very good product but it doesn't seem to be the sort of thing many people are likely to buy, in my opinion. The other one from episode 3 however, looks like a much more 'general' market product.
Good point --- The 1100 is really for those who run their own Data Center (even a Data Closet) or need something that can be racked. For anybody who doesn't have those particular needs, the NV+ is a better choice.
