i mean the passion and heart behind it. William is a great vocalist at all and the new record is great but Alice In Chains were always a very dark band and Layne was the fuckin master of tellin people, how fucked up the life is and can be and stuff and all this lyrics/vocals written by him are just so personal and painfull. This is the reason why i love alice so much, because of this dark fucked up vibe Layne had. This is also the reason why i dont like William to sing some old songs.

i know dude. I grew up on Layne and old AiC. For me personaly, Layne can´t be replaced by anybody. Layne is like Phil Anselmo or Kurt Cobain. You cant replace this great frontmans!
The new singer is good at all, but when i listen how he tryes to sing the old "Layne songs" about depression, personal shit and drugs... this sucks! But the new record is great and i wish them best luck in the future! still one of my fav. bands out there!

I think this is the worst these songs can be sung even when the singer is in key. This guy just does not hit it with much soul.

As a listener who is not a fanboy, I can very easily enjoy this performance. He's not Layne, but nobody but Layne is.
Let's grow up and enjoy the fucking song. It's still good, Layne or no Layne, and I'd appreciate the opportunity to see it performed live again. Layne ruined his fucking life with drugs, don't deprive me of good music because of it.
Now grow up, Christ. Everyone. Put the hero worship away.

He sucks at the old stuff. I disagree. I think he's phenomenal on vocals period. He may not have a 7 scale range like Mariah Carey or other pop artists, but he sings rock and roll music and he knows how to do it well.
